Feature Requests and Issues / Places of Interest

It might be a crazy idea, but it's something that's come up for me a couple of times now, so I want to toss it out for analysis.


As a rule all of us operate in the same area day in and day out.  And on a regular basis the question that tends to come up is where is the nearest ... ?  (hospital, fire station, police station, etc)  I have a map (MARPLOT) that shows nothing but where these services are in my area so I can find the closest one fast.


Would it be possible to add a map layer where these constants can be predefined and turned on or off as needed, and be available to any of the mission maps?  I guess a logical extension of this could be the creation of a global map that contains this information from all across the country and the data can be maintained by local SARs.


Is there any merit to this?

Feature Requests and Issues / InstaMapper vs APRS

A lot of our members have APRS capability.  Would it be possible to add that to the mapping?  I honestly think that we have more folks with APRS than with InstaMapper.

General Mission Manager Discussion / Guest Access

Amazing tool.  There's a learning curve, but it's well worth the effort.  Thank you for making this available.


A question regarding functionality for a feature I'm hoping already exists.  My team will at times work with other SAR units or agency representatives on a "project".  I say project because some of our missions are public safety support for events and can be planned several months out.  The mapping capability of Search Manager allows us to get the lay of the land mapped out and stage far more effectively the day of the event.  This means we can have multiple active missions at the same time.


When we grant guest access, we want to restrict access to a particular mission, not just any active mission.


Is there a way to do this?
