When I add a new "Certification Date" field it seems to place a date in the field by itself or if the field is shifted (when there were only 8 fields available I added #8 and when I went to the member page what I had placed in the #8 spot on the conf page was now #7 on the members page and what was #7 was moved to #8. Not a big problem except the data didn't move with it.)
I added two temp fields this morning and they both had dates put into them.
Let me know if its something I am doing wrong.
Thanks

Each date #1-#8 have a "slot" in the member data. When you add and remove a date field you are accessing one of these pre-defined member fields. So if you enable a field that had a date in the past, that date will re-appear. This is somewhat by design, so if you remove a date field all your date data doesn't get removed, in case you want to re-add it later.
Does that make sense?

You have data fields 1-10 and regardless what I name it the data will stay in the fields? That part I think I get but there used to be 8 fields and when I entered the 8th field it got inserted into the 7th spot and pushed what I had in the 7th spot down. Which wasn't a problem other than the data remain. Not sure when the numbers of fields were increased to 10 (by the way thanks, we needed them), now what was my #8 spot is down to #10 and there is no data in it.
Hope that doesn't make it to confusing.

OK, I think I understand, my apologies if I'm still not explaining this right. ;D Let me explain it this way: If you have something in the 7th slot, say "Joined", you don't want to move that "Joined" to another slot as the date (data) won't move. Once you define a date in a slot, say #7, the data (dates) stay in slot #7 even if you move the field name to another #. MM should be smart enough to move your data around if you re-order your fields, but currently that's on the wish list.

Thanks - I can live with the way it is, I just got confused when the new fields were added and they had dates in them already. Thanks for explaining it.

Thought I had everything figured out, but when I added some members this morning the program auto filled my "certification 7" field with todays date. Is this a setting that I have messed up somewhere?
-
Fixed.
What happened here is certification 7 defaulted to the "Joined" date, so MM was putting in the current date for you. Now MM will search all your dates for "join" or "hire" field names, if it finds one of these it will add the current date for you when a new member is created.
Thanks for the report.

Is there the possibility for you to expand the "Certification dates" (with expire) to all of the available certifications? We work on a 3 year training rotation and every member is required to go through all of the certifications every three years. To date we track a minimum of 18 certs by date and we are expanding that to include the new SAR Standards required by MRA and NPS SAR in our area. It seems like as long as you have the expired button available on any/all of the 30 line items, then different teams could use them as needed. (ie with or without dates)
-
So you are looking for 20 certification dates?
-
Yes at a minimum. you have 10 cert date fields with an additional 4 that are more robust. and then 20 non-dated fields. Why not just make em all dated and if the cert doesn't expire, then you just don't check the expired box.
Currently we track a minimum of 18 but out training committee is still working on the final plans for NPS-SAR realignment as well as MRA. there could be as many as 25-30 by the time they are done.
Thanks,
JB

No against it but if at all possible it would be nice to have some without the dates. The only "certs" that expire for our team are ones received from other agencies (swiftwater, cpr, medical etc..) Any of our standard skills are caught every two years in our recurrancy checklist. We have a few that just need to be marked that they got done but there are not expiration dates needed for them.

Hey All, I have a recent request from my team to add More CERT EXPIRES date fields. Would it be possible to add 10 more? we need a minimum of 5 more to accommodate the MRA certs we are trying to track and its my guess that there will be more.
Thanks for the consideration of this request.

You got it. There is a now a button that will let you add up to 40 dates.

You Guys ROCK! Thanks for the quick response and approval of the request!!

On the configuration screen try a F5 refresh, the Javascript might need a reload.
