Title: Mission Manager Email Server Suspension
Post by: Olaf Walter on June 29, 2016, 11:56:26 AM
Mission Manager, as the principle account holder of our AWS email server has received a notification this morning, informing us that our Amazon SES server has been suspended because of excessive email bounce rate.

This means that members/users of Mission Manger may experience difficulties in sending/receiving emails (this includes SMS, calendar, task, member status and time keeping emails) from within Mission Manager.

We believe that the reason for email bounces are fake or invalid (misspelled) email addresses to which emails are being sent from within a Team Account.

As one mitigating measure, we ask you to go into your Team Account and check your email addresses for validity and ensure that you send emails and/or text only to verified email addresses.

In the meantime, Mission Manager is working closely with AWS to restore our email server as soon as possible, we will post any updates on the forum.

We apologize for the inconvenience,
thank you for your understanding,

Mission Manager Admin

This is to inform everybody that our AWS email server was/is fully back in operation as of around 2130 hours yesterday.
Contrary to yesterdays announcement, text messaging via SMS was not affected throughout this suspension.

As suspected, the elevated email bounce rate, which was a reason for the suspension, was in fact triggered by invalid email addresses.

In order to limit elevated email bounce rates, we again urge every Team Account holder and individual member to check your email address for validity and ensure that you only send emails to verified email addresses.

We continue to work with our AWS partners to implement protocols which minimize email server interruption.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding!
