I'll pass that on.  Thanks.

So Chuck, are you talking about the Clue (Animal) tab and wanting a bigger Name box at the top, or are you using the Subject tab, which lists all the details on the lost child/person like Subject name, Type of subject, DOB, date last seen, physical description, what they were wearing, etc.?

Feature Requests and Issues / Probability report character limit?
« on: May 29, 2014, 08:46:08 AM »
On the Clues tab, which we use for Animals instead, what is the character limit of the Probability description box?  We are using it to keep notes on the status of the animals we either pick up or shelter in place (SIP).  If we SIP, then we use it to track the dates of feeding and watering, so we can set up a schedule to re-visit the site.  If we pick them up, we use it to track their destination, current location, and final disposition.  This is the type of info our PIO is always clamoring for, and it appears to be the best location to keep it in.

I heard back from Twilio support.  That link is to code that would need to go into MM.  They won't control message line infinite loops on their end.  Why should they.  They make money for every minute.  Here is my back & forth with their tech support, in revers chronological order:

Hello Tony,
You actually need to change your application that you currently have your twilio number pointed to:
http://www.radishworks.com/SearchManager/MsgLine.php?SID=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You need to get with whom ever hosts or wrote this for you and change it there.
Does this make sense?

That still leaves the question of where exactly I would do that. I tried using your second example in Twilio on the application option for my phone number, but it would only let me enter a URL. No additional lines or commands were allowed. Once again, is this something I can do directly in Twilio, or do I have to modify code on the web site that is hosting my message?

Hello Tony,
Please see link I provided below:
instead of
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Response><Gather numDigits="1"><Play>http://api.twilio.com/2010-04-01/Accounts/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/Recordings/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</Play></Gather><Redirect/></Response>
You would do something like
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Response>
    <Play loop="10">https://api.twilio.com/cowbell.mp3</Play>
</Response>

OK. Is this loop application something I put somewhere in my Twilio settings, or is it something that has to occur outside Twilio on the web site I direct Twilio to? I tried adding then editing an App in Twilio, but all I got were error messages. Now my balance is below zero. Needless to say, I am not anxious to put more money in, just to have it sucked back out.
Thanks.

Hello Tony,
Thank you for reaching out. You appear to be using a <redirect> which will play the message over and over until the caller disconnects.
This call for example:
https://www.twilio.com/user/account/log/calls/C
It looks like it just redirected over and over.
I would recommend using a loop instead:

I use this number for a volunteer disaster response team message line. It is for my team to call and hear info on the current disaster. These messages are usually less than one minute in duration. No message can be left by a caller. In the past three months, I have received a bunch of calls from various numbers lasting from 15 to 240 minutes! How do I truncate incoming calls after a fixed period of time, say 2 minutes?

Well this issue has come up on my message line.  Over the past three months, phone calls lasting up to 4 hours each (that's a lot of time listening to my 1 minute message!) have sucked $40 out of my wallet.The helpful people at Twilio fraud said: "Oh, you need to limit the number of playbacks" then directed me to a TwiML app.

I can't figure out if I am supposed to put it in my Twilio account or somewhere in MM, neither of which are obvious.

Very frustrating.

General Mission Manager Discussion / Re: callout system thru Twillo
« on: May 08, 2014, 02:41:05 PM »
We use a Twilio account and it works great.  As our team members live in three different area codes, I got an 800 number.  We use it for callouts and messages.  And it is CHEAP!  I think I have spent a total of $60 in three years for it.

Chuck, that is exactly what we did with ours.  Changed Clues to Animals.  We had it like that for our joint training with you guys last month.  I will send a share link to you on that mission and you can check it out.

General Mission Manager Discussion / APRS using Android or IPhone
« on: April 16, 2014, 10:48:51 AM »
There are now apps that will let your Android or IPhone report your position into APRS.  Of cours, you need to be a licensed ham to use these as it needs your call sign.  We are just starting to test these, but so far, so good.
The free app for Android devices is here: http://www.crosscountrywireless.net/aprs_messenger_android.html
There is a similar program for iPhones: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/openaprs/id360574554?mt=8
It costs $4.

This will work fine as long as we have cell service.

General Mission Manager Discussion / Re: Need Ideas

Without being familiar with what roles you are playing in the event, it is difficult for me to envision the various possible teams.  What my team did (we do animal rescue during disasters primarily) is re-named the Team tab in the Mission to Assignment.  Using that, we can generate in advance a bunch of specific assignments that aren't standard ICS roles or team names, then attach personnel to those assignments as they become available.  That way you don't have to worry about a team name, just an assignment name (Fifth and B, 123 Main St., etc.)

Feature Requests and Issues / Re: assigning equipment
« on: August 20, 2013, 02:19:47 PM »
Could you do it just like personnel?  When the equipment is available for use, it could be "checked in" and show up just like personnel, to be selected for a team or assignment?  Some equipment could be linked to a specific individual (it is their personal truck/trailer/quad/etc.) so it would be on their personal info page and become available when they check in.

Feature Requests and Issues / Re: Map Layer Request

I am able to access my County's permit information in the County's GIS system. It shows locations where permits for cell towers have been issued in the unincorporated areas or on County property.  Nothing in the cities shows up, unless it is on a little County enclave.  Unfortunately, it doesn't give any information on coverage area, just the provider's name.  It is also on the secure server that can only be accessed through the County's intranet, so I don't think it is publicly available.  I will check when I am at home and see if I can access it, but I doubt it.  Therefore, it would not be accessible to MM.  But if your agency has laptops that will access your City/County permits while in the field, that may be an option.

Clearing the Cache did it.  Thanks for the font adjustment.  Looks good now.

Thanks for adding the phone number.  I think the notes box will work to designate a specific channel for the assignment.  It also allows the team to see all the channels we are using, in case they can't get us on their assigned channels for some reason.

Not wishing to pick too many nits, but can you adjust the default font size for the information printed in the Tactical Channel and Command Channel boxes?  When I print the Assignment sheet, the font is so big it exceeds the size of the box, especially now with the phone number going into the Command Channel box.
