It's a good idea and we can add it to our request list.

Your post raises a timely issue. We're having teams report issues with using the email-to-text gateway method (nnnnnnnnnn@phoneprovider.com) of sending texts. The phone providers are adopting stricter spam methodologies such that email texts are not reliable anymore. We urge teams to consider switching to the native text messaging offered by Mission Manager using fee-based Twilio. The cost is low, about a cent per text message segment and 1.5 cents per minute for phone calls, which is an added alert method if your team doesn't currently use phone calls via Mission Manager and Twilio.

Announcements / Calendar event related notifications issue
« on: June 21, 2023, 01:35:08 PM »
Dear Mission Manager Users!

Microsoft began a rollout of updated security protocols for email accounts on May 29, 2023, effectively ending their support for the POP3 and IMAP emailing standards.
While we initially determined that there would not be an impact to our Mission Manager application, it has since been determined that all Calendar event related notifications (e.g. reminders, RSVPs) are not being sent out. This situation seems to be limited to calendar type notifications and not callouts or emails sent from the Messages tab.
Our software team is working diligently with our IT partners on remediating the problems incurred due to Microsoft’s decision and want to reassure our customers that we are giving this our highest priority and apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you.
We will inform you once this issue has been resolved.

Thank you for your understanding and patience!

Announcements / Mission Manager Maintenance Outage
« on: April 09, 2021, 10:17:44 AM »
Dear Mission Manager User!
Mission Manager (MM) will be offline and unavailable, due to the installation of a new Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate, for approximately 1 hour on Sunday, April 11th from 12:00 am to 01:00 am, Pacific Daylight Time.

SSL is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted connection between a web server and a browser. This secure connection ensures the privacy of your data as it moves between the web server and your browser. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites for the protection of online customer transactions.

Obviously, being unavailable to our clients for any period of time is a very serious matter, hence we want to give you ample notice to pre-plan in case you have a mission during that time frame. We chose the outage time based on our lowest usage statistics. If you are logged into MM when this upgrade begins, you will be automatically logged out. If you try to log in, you will see a message screen letting you know that MM is offline.

Mission Manager saves user inputs each time you tab away from an entry field. Therefore, you will not lose any data during this update process. All MM generated email calendar notifications will not be lost but ‘collected’ during the update and sent out once the update process is completed. Please note that communication via Twilio will not be available during the upgrade installation.

Thank you for being a valued user of Mission Manager!

If you experience any abnormalities when utilizing Mission Manager after 01:00 am PDT Sunday, April 11th, please contact Technical Support at techsupport@missionmanager.com or 619-457-6120 immediately.

Good catch! The date checker for that field must be using a test that doesn't include the equal sign ('>' rather than a '>=' type of thing). We'll have to fix that. Thanks for the report.

Feature Requests and Issues / Re: Manual times on check in/check out
« on: June 14, 2019, 02:20:01 PM »
Not yet. We are working on a feature request to edit check in/out times for someone that has checked out.

Unless you meant using a different time than the current time when checking someone into a mission. The answer in that case is yes, you can choose a time in the past to check someone in. Sometimes the command structure with the computers arrives later than the team members. You can get caught up in Mission Manager and check members in using their correct arrival time by editing the Check In Time before clicking the Check In button. You cannot choose a time in the future or they will just be checked in with the current day and time.

If we missed the issue, you can always call tech support at 619-457-6121.

We will need to do some testing to figure out what is happening. In the meanwhile if you could look over the 0% members and let us know of any pattern you notice, that would be helpful. Pattern such as whether they are in a particular unit or perhaps rank.

Announcements / Notice of Outage for Planned Software Feature Upgrade
« on: December 06, 2018, 05:56:07 PM »
Dear Mission Manager User!

Mission Manager (MM) will be offline and unavailable, due to a general update of the Mission Manager (MM) code, for approximately 2 hours on Sunday, December 9th from 00:01 A.M. to 02:00 A.M., Pacific Standard Time.

The main upgrade concern implementation of the following Mission Manager functionality:
MM currently offers the “Task” feature for any Team Account but only outside of a specific Mission. The new feature to be added will allow to assign ‘Mission Specific Tasks’, meaning that any Team can assign general tasks outside any Mission and also assign tasks within a specific Mission. The functionality of the “Mission Task” tab will be congruent with the “General Task” tab outside any specific Mission.

If you try to log in, you will see an error screen letting you know that MM is offline.

If you experience any abnormalities when utilizing Mission Manager after Sunday, December 9th 02:00 A.M. PST, please contact Technical Support at techsupport@missionmanager.com or 619-457-6120 immediately.

General Mission Manager Discussion / Re: SpamAssassin-56
« on: September 16, 2018, 10:05:30 AM »
Someone on your team is using SpamAssassin to filter their email and has not allowed the domain of Mission Manager to be an approved sender. I would instruct them to set up a filter to approve the domain of missionmanager.net. I will also send you an off-board email with some further info.

Thanks for reaching out with the report. We do seem to be having an issue with that feature, though it is somewhat unclear what the problem is. The Request Response message is sent out just the same way as a text message, so we need to dig into the difference. We will report back.

Thank you for alerting us to the issues you're having.

Regarding the sorting of different certifications on the Team page, we have tested and are not finding the same problem. Mission Manager is very customizable and we wonder if one of your sort-by fields has a special character or some other attribute that is not allowing it to sort, which might have it revert back to a different option. It would be best to handle that individually so we will reach out to you via email.

The dropdown choices on the Member Certification Levels are only single choice by the nature of the dropdown. It seems you do have a good workaround. We suggest using Member Certification Levels with the identifier of "Other Languages". The choices would only be Yes and No. Make sure to check Sort By. Then using Member Certification Checks, you could identify the individual languages, making sure to check the Show Only Filter. Then on the Teams page you could sort by Other Languages using the Show Only Fields to identify a particular language or languages.

Once a member has Mission permission, they are able to move members onto teams. If several members were logged in with the same member ID, that could have been an issue. Also using a tablet you would need to use a mouse. Other than that it should have worked. We can discuss when we reach out by email.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Feature Requests and Issues / Re: Updating Certifications Check
« on: October 11, 2017, 11:45:37 AM »
Yes, we can see how that would be frustrating. To clarify for other users, if you have a Certification Check of "Ham Radio Operator" and members with that field checked, then later change that field to read "Heavy Equipment Operator", the original members that had that field checked will now continue to have that field checked. The Ham Radio Operators are all now Heavy Equipment Operators. The Certification label changes, but the check mark or certification type or certification date will remain.

That necessitates manually removing all the previous information in the field you wish to change. We suggest printing the Certification Status Report on the Member record before proceeding.

We will review that feature request and update as necessary. The info couldn't clear by default as a team might just want to clarify a field's label description without losing the existing data. The mechanism would probably have to be as you suggest, allowing an administrator to clear a field over the entire team.

Feature Requests and Issues / Re: Export Map Data is exporting all data
« on: November 04, 2016, 06:48:51 PM »
We were able to export only certain objects using the "Export Map Data" button. For the test, we created four map elements, but only had two of them checked and visible on the map. Actually one was off the viewable portion of the map, but it was checked. The resulting GPX file had only the two elements that were checked.

Perhaps it's a browser issue?  We used Chrome version 54.0.2840.71 m on a Windows 10 machine. The Help wiki has been changed so the wiki instructions reflect the button name in the software.

Notice to Verizon customers. We are experiencing bounced emails when Mission Manager users have a text address that uses the vzwpix.com extension. We suggest changing that extension to vtext.com.

To be clear, messages sent to the format of 6195551212@vzwpix.com are bouncing. We suggest changing to 6195551212@vtext.com.

vzwpix.com is an MMS version of vtext.com. It seems this is an issue on the Verizon side, but we are investigating.
