General Mission Manager Discussion / Re: Retrieve a deleted member
« on: July 20, 2016, 07:45:10 AM »
OK, well they are gone I guess.  With the last few members that left the organization, I disabled their account by checking "Member Account Disabled" on the MEMBERS page.  All well and good with the exception that these disabled members are included by default on messages sent to the group.

Yes, I can de-select them from the list of those members (in MESSAGES) that will get the message.  However, in the rush to get a message out in an emergency callout, it's cumbersome for the user to have to do this to prevent a message going to a disabled account.  Yet we'd like to keep the disabled user's account data, as we discussed above.

It seems that MM should not default to select members in MESSAGES that have disabled accounts in MEMBERS.

General Mission Manager Discussion / Retrieve a deleted member

Is there any way to retrieve a deleted member to look at their hours, ect.?

We were assuming that, but it would be helpful if the offending address was in the error message.  In MSExchange and other email servers, that detail is available.  If it's possible, including that detail would save admins a lot of time in MM.

Thank you

Suddenly a number of our members received this message in email below (recipient's ID X'ed out).  Anyone know what this is about?  Tnx, Roger

General Mission Manager Discussion / Re: SMS Text Messages
« on: February 02, 2015, 11:53:18 AM »
Often a carrier, Verizon, Sprint, etc, will see multiple emails coming from one email address as spam and block or "blacklist" that address.  Using an SMS gateway provided by the carrier and a paging software package that uses SNPP or WCTP protocol to send the page (SMS text message) ...will avoid the email blacklist issue.  NotePage is one such paging software provider.  http://www.notepage.net/

I learned a lot about getting around these SMS-over-email issues on the NotePage web site.  I'm not a NotePage salesman or vendor, just an EMA volunteer that had the same issue.

General Mission Manager Discussion / Print of Radio Log Jumbled
« on: February 02, 2015, 11:17:22 AM »
Seen this one?     ....After a lot of radio log entries, when we went to print the log "Print Radio Log" the print out has the times shuffled at random.  The time should start with the oldest entry, down to the newest.  It's random.  "Export Radio Log" works correctly.

General Mission Manager Discussion / Radio Log Corrupted
« on: February 02, 2015, 11:12:30 AM »
Good afternoon all,

I wonder if anyone has seen this; We had our EOC open for 16 hours due to the blizzard here on Sat/Sun.  We created a new mission at the start and were updating the radio log at a rate of ~20-30 lines an hour for more than 10 hours.  The rate slowed later, but after about 10 hours or 200 lines, the time automatically entered was 2 hours behind.  The event log was acting the same way.  We also noticed that we had lost some messages during the two hours.  After some troubleshooting, I found that leaving the mission, logging out, and back in fixed it.  The auto time on the radio log was correct.  It didn't happen again.

Anyone see this sort of behavior?

Tnx, Roger

Works well Mike, thank you.  Just what we needed.

Since we use the phrase "on the scene" for status (over the radio) as status when the squad car gets to the scene, we'll start using the "On Assignment" status in MM when that car actually gets a task assigned.  Sometimes you have people and squads on the scene with no assignment.

Thank you for your quick response and understanding our needs.

General Mission Manager Discussion / Team Status Not Fitting Our Needs
« on: January 15, 2014, 12:34:24 PM »
As a municipal EMA, our members often go out in one of 15 squad cars or trucks.  Generally these vehicles have multiple members in them.  They're either doing traffic control for an auto accident, weather spotting, parade management, SAR, etc.  When we send them out, they will often be back in 2-3 hours for rest, member change out, etc.  The TEAMS tab doesn't really support what we do with our squad cars very well.  Beyond the team status of; En-ROUTE, On SCENE, ....we'd like to have: RETURNING, REASSIGNED, etc, so we can track squads coming to and from the garage for multiple purposes.  We'd like to be able to change out the occupants during these status.  Suggestions?

Thank you,
Roger Bonuchi
