General Mission Manager Discussion / Computer Recommendations
« on: January 14, 2012, 09:43:28 PM »
After our team observed the use of your program in the field last week, they have approved the purchase of a lap top that will be just for our team use.  I have been using my personal laptop.

So I'm looking for recommendation from others who use the program as to what they use in the field to run MM.  I looked at a Panasonic Toughbook, but that is so out of the question..

So please, give me some ideas for hardware , software.  What do you do to protect from dust, water, and the elements?  What do you do for net access when you don't have WiFi, or hard wire access?  What do you use to transport to and from the field?

We will also be using this laptop to do some of our training PowerPoints, and some other basic team work, so I know we will be putting Office on there.

Thanks,

Feature Requests and Issues / Re: Firefox Problem

Thanks TARSAR.  Will put that one in the notes we have going on how to use the system.

White text did show up in the afternoon, after I had to do a reboot due to a software issue with another program.

I understand the "span of Control".  We will just break them up in to even teams, and do it that way.

Sorry, didn't get back to you yesterday.  Got another activation yesterday morning, and was out most of the day on that.

I tried the F5 command, and did not see a difference.  I was hoping you could make it like is an option for markers and drawing figures.

If not I understand.

On another note, we have a crew on the ground this morning doing a search.  I am logging from the command post, but trying to get some things done.  We currently have 12 members on the ground doing a close (shoulder to shoulder) ground search.  They are all in one team, but when I tried to put them into one team, it will only let me put up to 10 people in a team.  Anyway that can be expanded?  We not only do search and rescue, and CERT missions, but as do evidence searches for law enforcement.  We often work in one big team for those as we are so close together.

Just some thoughts.  We are really loving the program, and what it can do.  This is a great thing you are doing for the search and rescue community.

Feature Requests and Issues / Change Text Color and Marker Color On Maps
« on: January 06, 2012, 08:15:31 AM »
Is there any way to change the colors of the text and the color of the Markers on the maps?

We are trying to print off maps for where we are headed this weekend for our briefing tonight.  The text and the marker get mixed in with the Sat photo and makes it hard to see.

Any suggestions?

Ok, the problem seem to have fixed itself.  I don't know what we did, but now it is back up and running.

Feature Requests and Issues / Firefox Problem
« on: January 03, 2012, 11:23:06 AM »
I use Firefox all the time in my day to day work, and I have been using it with MM with no problem.

Today, I went in to work on some map stuff, and when I click on the Map tab I get

Quote
Firefox is currently in offline mode and can't browse the Web.

Press "Try Again" to switch to online mode and reload the page

So I press the Try Again button, and try to get into Maps and the same issue keeps happening.

I have cleared my history, cache, everything.  Shut down, still nothing.  I tried on a Co-workers computer with Chrome, and it works just fine there.  Is there something going on that won't let Firefox run the maps.

Any suggestions ideas?

I'm concerned as we have been put on standby for a search and I want to be able to have things running if we get the call.

Feature Requests and Issues / Time Keeping Request - Minimum Hours
« on: January 03, 2012, 10:36:11 AM »
We are going to begin using the time keeping with our members this month, and I have a request.

If you count my Minimum hours, I'm already covered for the year.  And we have quite a few people who will be in the same boat.  We don't require a certain number of of participation hours because we know not everyone can get to everything, but we have required Training Hours that you have to meet.

Is there anyway you could put something in for a requirement for certain categories of time keeping?

Anyway you could give us a listing of what the "Default" settings will be for the team types?  What are the differences for the Team types?

Also, when you change your team type (I changed ours over to CERT this morning), is the team type suppose to show up somewhere?  When I change it, it goes back to (Change Team Type) in the field when I make the change.

Working now.  Don't know what happened, but it works now.

Yes, I have the add new members button.

Like I said, it is working now, so if I have more problems I will let you know.

Feature Requests and Issues / Can't Add New Members
« on: December 07, 2011, 03:29:33 PM »
I am in the process of adding our members in to the program, and I can't add in a new member.  I am starting to take over the Demo members, but I'm going to run out here real shortly with 42 members to add.

I have tried to add members in all three browsers: Explorer, Chrome and Firefox with no luck.  Please help!

Feature Requests and Issues / Medical Information
« on: December 05, 2011, 09:26:17 PM »
Our old paper database for our members had spot for blood type along with allergies.  Anyway you could include the Blood type in there.  It was something that was requested by our leadership so that if something happens with one of our members, we can send an information card with our other members in transporting them to the hospital.

Love what the program does, and excited to start using it.  Have been playing with it for a bit, and got the powers that be to go for using the software.
