Feature Requests and Issues / Re: Message Team

Tyler, are you saying that you click to message the team, but everyone in MM is selected and not just the members of that specific team?

I like it the way it is, but obviously all users will have differing opinions based on their needs.

A quick run through linux with Firefox as the browser trying online and offline worked exactly as expected and just like running in windows.

I'll test it on Ubuntu 11.10 this evening and let you know.  I've accessed basic portions of it, but haven't done it offline or anything, but I'll give it a try.

General Mission Manager Discussion / Re: Computer Recommendations
« on: February 03, 2012, 02:14:03 PM »
Tyler,
The only upgrades I would suggest would be more RAM and going with Windows 7 64bit not 32bit.  The 32 bit platform limits the amount of RAM you'll be able to use to 4GB (3.5 usable), whereas the 64bit platform (Professional Version) will handle up to 192GB of RAM.  Your laptop may not be able to handle that maximum amount, but the operating system can.  Where this comes in to play is when opening multiple applications.  With 2GB of RAM on a laptop, you'll notice the hit to performance as you have more programs/windows open.  The operating system is the same cost whether it's 32 or 64 bit and with the price of RAM as cheap as it is, it shouldn't cost much to upgrade to say 4Gb or 8GB.  I know from crucial.com I recently purchased an 8GB RAM kit for a Sony laptop and it was $45.  Well worth the investment.

I'd suspect that getting an android app to do that would require some programming assets that they may not have.  Of course can't alienate Apple and Blackberry users.  Another potential idea would be a mobile interface for the web app to do that kind of thing.  Would still require web access on the phone and could provide a scaled down interface for mobile devices, but wouldn't be as potentially prohibitive as mobile phone apps.

Feature Requests and Issues / Re: Print Problems
« on: January 16, 2012, 11:30:36 AM »
In my pursuit to learn as much as I can, I tested the witness form and got the exact same result when printing.  I made sure that I had no page limitations in the print setup and that all pages showed in the "popup" page showing the document.  I tried it from IE, Chrome, FF, and printing to my CLP-510 laser, and Epson injet.  All had the same result as previously posted.  Odd I'd say.  Not that I think it much matters, but I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with all updates to all relevant applications and drivers.

If there's anything I can test, I will.  I have test machines running MS OS's from 2000 to Windows 8, and servers from 2000 to 2008r2, as well as Linux desktop and server distros.  Let me know if there's anything I can do to assist.

Feature Requests and Issues / Re: Firefox Problem
« on: January 13, 2012, 05:32:57 PM »
I was encountering this same issue as I attempt to learn the details of the program.  I did find that in FireFox in order to force the map page to view the online version and not get the error I needed to do the following:

Open Firefox (yeah I know, but I have to include it just to be safe)
Click on TOOLS>OPTIONS>ADVANCED>NETWORK
Toward the bottom you'll see "The following websites have stored data for offline use"
Click on REMOVE and that should remove the offline data and get things back online

I guess I would also caution if you've worked offline for some time and made changes that you should sync the data so the changes are posted to the site BEFORE you do what I've suggested, but that's just a guess.  Perhaps someone more learned than me could verify that.

Feature Requests and Issues / Re: Instamapper Integration

I'll check that and see how it works.  Thanks.

(Update)  Well that was easy, and worked perfectly.  That should make it a bit easier for others.

Took the tracking on a training hike this AM and it worked exactly as I wanted it to.  Course was perfectly mapped based on the actual trail we took.  As the team techy dork, I've been tasked with all the fun jobs like learning MM, teaching map and compass skills, training, getting a HAM license/training, and overall stuff.

Well as luck would have it (or not as the case might be), I'm a retard.  I didn't notice that when I copy/paste the master API, it put an extra space at the end of the number.  Removed that space and it worked fine.  Good to know that every single character including spaces are utilized.  Frustrating, but at least I figured it out.  Hopefully my mistake can help someone else.

I'll double check everything...again, but I know the phone is connecting to instamapper correctly as I can see the tracking data there just fine.  In the instamapper site I can see the data and my position in the live tracking.  Today, I also tried using both the device API and the Master API and neither would show on the map after letting more than an hour go on each setting.  A bit puzzling, but I'm stubborn.

Feature Requests and Issues / Instamapper Integration
« on: January 07, 2012, 12:38:53 PM »
While I'm quite good at computers, the instamapper integration is just not functioning for me as I think and assume it should.  What I've done thus far:
1) Created instamapper account
2) Added Phone
3) Installed app on phone
4) Started app on phone and verified that live tracking is working correctly (it is)
4a) Did enable API access in configuration of InstaMapper
5) Entered MM, Configuration, Team Tracking
6) Entered the Master API KEY and Device Key
7) Created a mission (for testing purposes)
8) Only have myself as a member checked in
9) Assigned myself for a team and verified that the Device key was assigned to me
10) Put my "team" on assignment
11) Go to Maps and see the Active Locations and Active Tracks, but don't see my team there as an option to click on, which I assume puts my location on the map

Again, I'm relatively new to this package, but not adverse to tinkering, but I figured I wouldn't reinvent the wheel and ask the experts.  The reason I'm looking at this now is we're doing a training hike tomorrow AM and wanted to enabled this to track the location we're hiking.  I'm trying to learn as much as I can so we're not completely lost come actual mission.

Any feedback/help is greatly appreciated and if I'm an idiot for missing something obvious, do tell, I won't get offended.
