Is it possible to generate a report with just the assignment information. When we use the "paper" method of managing a search we have a Task Assignment Log where we enter just the task #, team leader, objective, type of task, and when it was started and completed. We use it a lot to have a quick snap shot of where we stand or to give a quick overview to supporting agencies. I know we could use the event log but there is a lot more information on that report then what we often times need.

I do like having the radio id in the pop up box. I'll play with it and see if that helps.
We discussed using the teams assignment number as their call sign, and we may go to that. It will just take a bit of a transition period to retrain folks. It is helpful to know how other teams do it. Its something for us to continue to discuss. Thanks

Is there any way of linking a person's radio call sign to their name on a team assignment? It would be nice to look at the team assignment and automatically see their radio call sign. I think it would make it a lot easier for our comms folks to keep track of units in the field. It would also be nice if it showed up on the actual Team Assignment report that we print out. When we task out an assignment we change the "assignment name" to the task number, which is the day- the next numerical assignment (16-1, if it was assigned today and was the first assignment). I would like to hear how other teams handle the assignment numbering/name.

Clay, when we started using MM it took us a while to change our use of terms. We always used "Task" to describe an assignment. So it was a bit counter-intuitive to click on the "Team" tab to create what we considered a "Task". Is part of the issue terminology? We only create a mission for an actual mission or a training, we haven't created them for events, so we have not run into the issues you are describing. We are currently running a search team member training with members of multiple NGO teams attending. For this training we use the Task tab to assign homework with deadlines etc, but we didn't create a "mission". It sounds like you may be describing the need for an "Event" type of tab where you could assign tasks for a specific event? I think putting the current "Task" tab could create a lot of confusion. At least that would be the case for us. I would be interested in hearing more of how you are using it in case I am not capturing it correctly.

Yes that helped a lot! I didn't even think about changing the Mission Type. We do use slightly different terms but I'm not sure it's worth the time for you to make the changes but I will through them out.
Linear- (in addition to line) for the area/line supplemental field
K9 Airscent, K9 Trailing, K9 Water, K9 HRD- for the K9 supplemental field
Sign Cutting- for the Tracking supplemental field
Again these are very minor and the key words you already have will work, so don't feel obligated to make any additions.

Ok an additional issue. For some reason the Assignment Types in the drop down box on the "Mission" Team" assignment page don't match what i have set in the "Configuration" tab. I have tried to close out MM and reopen several times and it continues to be a problem.

Thanks, and sorry for creating more work for you.
But if I try to change the fields such as creating "K9 Trailing", or separating "Area" and "Line" to customize them in the configurations that will not trigger the custom fields.

Ok I feel like an idiot! In an effort to maintain standardization I changed the "Team Assignment Types" in the configuration settings to mirror the terminology we currently use. I didn't even consider the ramifications of loosing the specific debriefing information for that type of assignment. Is there anyway to reset/restore the original types or get the debrief questions to line up with our assignment types? I hate self imposed headaches!  >:(

I love the new equipment tab. I like the fact that we can assign equipment to a specific person, but is there anyway of assigning equipment to a Unit (ie. Comms trailers, etc) It is still good to know who is responsible for that equipment but it would be nice to look at what unit can provide specific equipment for an incident. This is especially valuable to us in Maryland where we use MM on a statewide scale and have each volunteer team set up as a "unit"

Feature Requests and Issues / K9 name on assignment

We used MM again this weekend on several exercises  for our Search Team Member school. Again we received very impressive feedback from the managers, instructors and even students. It made our check in process so much smoother and quicker.
I do have one more request. In Maryland we like to capture the name of the K9 used on the task assignment form. Several handlers use multiple canines and this allows us to document the K9 that was used on a particular task. I realize the easy fix is to just enter the name of the K9 in the "notes" section of the team (task) assignment. Is there any chance of adding a K9 box to the assignment section when we select K9 assignment? Would it be possible to even check the K9's in on the search so you can select them from a list of available resources? Just some thoughts. sorry for adding to your work load. ;)
I tried to attach our currant Task Assignment/Debrief Report put I kept getting an error. I can e-mail it to you if it helps.
In addition does anyone else use Search Urgency Charts to help qualify the response of the Search? Any thoughts about adding a Search Urgency Chart to the mission?

We have been using the "Member Certification String" to capture a lot of our volunteers searcher's certification information, but we have run out of room with only 8 blocks. Any chance we can have 20 blocks in that section like the other certification areas?
