Parts of this were mixed in with
another thread, so I thought I'd break it out. First off, the successes...
I've gotten Mission Manager to recognize my map server and display the maps on any computer connected to my network. It took someone smarter than me to figure out the link I needed for the
Map Settings on the
Configuration tab. Here is what he came up with:
192.168.0.115 is the IP address (make it static) of the computer running the Sarsoft server.
:8080/resource/tiles/ points it to the program and the first part of the path to the maps.
topo is the directory where my maps are under the Sartoft program. The rest of it is a set of variables the computer uses to fill in the location of individual map tiles. I also have folders (and links) for satellite maps, visitor maps and whatnot. This setup makes the maps available to any computer on the network accessing a
Web Mission, which cuts way down on internet bandwidth and is generally awesome.
The last problem I have yet to work out is how to make the maps show up when in an
Offline Mission. From the
Mission tab, if I select a mission and
Download for Offline, then the open up the mission, I can only see the web maps which were cached. I can still select my offline maps as a base layer, but the do not display. Sometimes a very small region of the offline maps comes along with the cached web maps.
