Announcements / Mission Manager Maintenance Outage
« Last post by Olaf Walter on September 22, 2023, 03:36:17 PM »
Dear Mission Manager User!

Mission Manager (MM) will be offline and unavailable for approximately 2 hours beginning 23:00 Pacific Time, Saturday, September 23rd , 2023. This is due to the implementation of the 2nd step on a sequence of software upgrades with our MM application.

As previously reported, Mission Manager is in the process of mitigating a problem that restricts Calendar Event Notifications (e.g. reminders and RSVP’s) from being sent out. Callouts and emails sent from the Messages tab are not impacted by this problem.

Please see also our announcement on Mission Manager’s Forum from yesterday, September 21st , 2023.
We want to reassure you that we are giving this our highest priority and apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you.
We will inform you as soon as this issue has been fully resolved.

Obviously, MM being unavailable to our clients for any period is a serious matter, and therefore we are providing you with ample notice to pre-plan this down-time in MM should you have a mission in process during this time frame. We chose the timing of this upgrade to coincide with MM’s lowest usage statistics.

If you are logged into MM when this upgrade begins, you will be automatically logged out. If you try to log in, you will see a message screen letting you know that MM is offline.
Mission Manager saves user inputs each time you tab away from an entry field. Therefore, you will not lose any data during this update process. All MM generated email calendar notifications will not be lost but ‘collected’ during the update and sent out once the update process is completed.

Please note that communication via Twilio will not be available during the upgrade installation.

Thank you for being a valued user of Mission Manager and for your understanding and patience!

If you experience any abnormalities when utilizing Mission Manager after 01:00 PT Sunday, September 24th, please contact Technical Support at
techsupport@missionmanager.com or 619-457-6120 immediately.

Announcements / Calendar Event related notifications issue: Update
« Last post by Olaf Walter on September 21, 2023, 10:39:25 PM »
Dear Mission Manager User!

On June 21st, 2023, we notified our users of problems we were encountering with Calendar Event related notifications not being sent out (Reminders, RSVPs, etc.).

We finally concluded that Microsoft’s recently updated security protocols were at the root of the problems we were experiencing. After significant engineering effort, that has involved us adapting our communication protocols to work with Microsoft’s new email security standards, our email and email-to-text applications are now, once again, functional. We are currently performing final testing of our updated communication protocols before releasing this update.
Whilst we have been diligently working to resolve these issues, some of our users may have experienced a number of unexpected emails and/or notifications. These unfortunate occurrences were the result of the original development work and, more recently, the extensive testing we have been performing that inadvertently caused a small backlog of messages to be sent.  You may have experienced this just last week.

We sincerely apologize for any confusion and inconvenience these occurrences may have caused you and your team.  We are working diligently  to resolving any remaining issues as we prepare to release our updated communication protocols that now comply with Microsoft’s recently updated security protocols!

Please watch out for the next major code maintenance/upgrade event scheduled for this coming Saturday night, September 23rd, 2023.
A specific announcement regarding this event will be made on the Forum as well as on our MM log-in page.

Another challenge for emails being sent from within Mission Manager via the ‘Messages’ tab, which at times resulted in bounced emails, is related to the default method for any Mission Manager Team Account using the free email-to-text gateway that most phone carriers so far have allowed but are now increasingly restricting such free usage.

The original Text is sent via email to the formatted address of the individual mobile phone number of all intended recipients of the text message. Though free to use, due to efforts by the individual carriers to mitigate spam, this method has increasingly shown issues such as bounced emails, absorption as spam, etc., especially if Teams send out large numbers of email-to-text messages at any one time.

To mitigate this challenge, MM’s customers are encouraged to utilize a ‘true native text’ Messager Service such as Twilio. This alternative method from within Mission Manager has been available for some time and has been adopted by an increasing number of our customers, especially the ones who already utilize Twilio for their call messaging.
Please see our MM Help Wiki under the help topic ‘Messages’ for further information.

Thank you again for your understanding and patience!

Announcements / Calendar event related notifications issue
« Last post by Support on June 21, 2023, 01:35:08 PM »
Dear Mission Manager Users!

Microsoft began a rollout of updated security protocols for email accounts on May 29, 2023, effectively ending their support for the POP3 and IMAP emailing standards.
While we initially determined that there would not be an impact to our Mission Manager application, it has since been determined that all Calendar event related notifications (e.g. reminders, RSVPs) are not being sent out. This situation seems to be limited to calendar type notifications and not callouts or emails sent from the Messages tab.
Our software team is working diligently with our IT partners on remediating the problems incurred due to Microsoft’s decision and want to reassure our customers that we are giving this our highest priority and apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you.
We will inform you once this issue has been resolved.

Thank you for your understanding and patience!

Feature Requests and Issues / Issue still with mission check-in
« Last post by besplin on June 04, 2020, 07:11:29 AM »
Hoping that the latest update would correct the problem with MM freezing up during check in after just a few members checked in. Requires tabbing out and back to check in more members. Frustrating and time consuming

Announcements / Mission Manager Maintenance Outage incl. Feature Update
« Last post by Olaf Walter on May 28, 2020, 09:27:22 AM »
Dear Mission Manager User!

Mission Manager (MM) will be offline and unavailable, due to a general update of the Mission Manager (MM) code, for approximately 2 hours on Sunday, May 31st from 00:01 A.M. to 02:00 A.M., Pacific Time.
The main upgrade concern implementation of the following Mission Manager functionality:
On the ‘Time Keeping’ tab, MM currently offers/displays time keeping records for any MM member having served within a specific Mission. Furthermore, MM offers/displays the ”Check In/Out” feature for any Team Account to easily check in/out members into a specific Mission, including the added functionality to allow Mission coordinators/Administrators to correct members check in/out date and times in an easy way even after a mission status has been changed to ‘Closed’. The code upgrade will address certain inconsistencies between these two functionalities reported by MM users.
Obviously, being unavailable to our clients for any period of time is a very serious matter, hence we want to give you ample notice to pre-plan in case you have a mission during that time frame. We chose the outage time based on our lowest usage statistics.

If you are logged into MM when this upgrade begins, you will be automatically logged out. If you try to log in, you will see an error screen letting you know that MM is offline.

Thank you for being a valued user of Mission Manager!
