Equipment on a mission
« on: July 14, 2012, 09:21:58 PM »
Is there a way, or if not could there be, to track personal equipment that is used on a mission? Specifically we'd like to know whether someone has brought their ATV or snowmachine, and we'd like to keep track of the mileage on it.

This is what the Equipment check boxes are for on the Members screen.  Then these same checks are shown on the Check In screen when a member checks in.  The intent of check in is so a person can update what equipment they actually have with them.  You can customize the equipment fields in the Member Fields in the Configuration.

As far as tracking mileage for these specialized vehicles, I don't have a good answer for that.  There isn't a specific field for that.  Maybe people could add their mileage in their mission Debrief report?

Hope that helps.  :D

When a member selects or deselects their equipment on the check-in screen, it also changes their permanent equipment list. Is that the intended action? They could elect to not bring an ATV on a particular mission, but I'd still like to keep record of whether they own one.

Are these inventories captured anywhere on a mission report? We'd like to be able to know that, for example, 7 people responded and there were 3 ATVs used.

Yes, this is the intent.  The idea is that if they brought a piece of equipment last time, chances are they'll bring it next time.  I understand that may not be the case with snowmobiles.   The check in screen is all about getting people checked in as fast as possible.

No its not captured on any reports after the mission is finished.  You can use the "Show Only" filters to show the current list of who has these items mid mission, but sorry nothing afterward.  Might be something for the wish list  :)
