Mission Manager v2.0 - All New Mapping
« on: April 05, 2011, 12:20:34 PM »
We are happy to announce Mission Manager version 2.0.  This version includes some major improvements and enhancements based on user feedback.  The most changes can be found in the mapping page.  The following is a list of what’s new:
  • Mapping is now based on Open Street Maps (OSM) (http://www.openstreetmap.org) and Open Layers (http://openlayers.org/).  With this change Mission Manager can now display maps from many new sources and all the map areas are drawn over these various map types.
  • Hill Shading Map Overlay
  • Color Relief Map Type
  • Greatly Improved TOPO Map Overlay
  • Improved Map Grid
  • Map coordinates now update when cursor is over a map area
  • New “double click” to finish creating map line and polygon areas
  • Map Feature Area Colors can now be changed
  • Enhanced Map Printing for different browsers
  • Improved / Cleaner Map Object Labels
  • Map Areas, including team tracks, can be Exported to a GPS from the Map screen
  • Command Post (CP), Clues, Subject LKP/PLS can now be moved on the Map and their coordinates will be updated on the appropriate screens
  • Improved page/html layout
  • New Color Scheme setting in the configuration screen
Enjoy!

Mike

This looks great.  My only criticism is that the awesome new no-account-required mapping tool is hard to find.  I used it last night to plot some GPS points and send out a map and it worked great.  A bigger link at the top of the radishworks.com/SearchManager/ page would be good, or it might even be deserving of a higher level link.
