What is an API key, and do I need one?

API Keys can be created on the members screen by system admins.  These keys are needed for 3rd party apps to talk to MM, they are like passwords.  See this section of the MM help: http://www.radishworks.com/MissionManager/Help.htm#API

what level does a member have to be to have access to the API key?

I would imagine only administrators should have API access.  If that code gets out, all of your data could be at risk.  Only developers should have access to it.

Radishworks Admins...is this an accurate representation of what API access could do?

Yes, API keys give very limited access to your data.  Each one of your members who is running a MM app will get their own API key so they can access the data.
