Add and Edit Animal Permission

Hello - with regards to the Permission: Member "Add and Edit Animals".  When I check this off for someone they are able to put in the name of the K9 but the rest of the date entry boxes are grayed out.

Wouldn't the checking of the Member "add and edit animals" box give them access to update the date boxes?

Members will need the "Member - Edit Certs and Expirations" permission to edit certification dates.
