New mission tab for Animal rescue teams
« on: April 18, 2014, 04:29:41 PM »
Hi,
When our group is called out for an emergency, we often have an IC/staging and separate a receiving area where animals are kept until they can be returned to their owners.  What would be the possibility of having a tab that could be used to track where the animals came from?
I can work with my receiving group to come up with rough layout, if you think this would be of benefit to the Mission manager family.
Thanks
Chuck Butler

That's an idea we'll have to look at. But in the meantime, how about using the Clues tab to log in the animals?  The Clues tab has a spot for Description, Location, GPS Location, and Picture. You could use the 'Instructions to Team' area as a status field, for instance use "Collect" or "Other" to indicate a collected animal, and then later change to "Disregard" when the animal is released. The Clues tab also allows for printing a log with locations, or for printing individual clue sheets. Clues get mapped as well.

You can also change the name of the "Clues" tab to "Animals" in the configuration screen.  I know some animal rescue teams already use MM this way.

Hi,
I think this will work.  I ran it by my Sgt. of receiving and she likes it.
I have a request for a couple of changes to make it better.
Can we upload multiple pictures for each?
Can we make the length of the clue name to about 30-35 characters?
Thanks

I showed this to my Lt. today.  Is there any time line on the multiple picture feature?
Thanks

Thanks.
Another question.
Do you have any tabs related to safety?
Thanks again for all of your good work.

Chuck, that is exactly what we did with ours.  Changed Clues to Animals.  We had it like that for our joint training with you guys last month.  I will send a share link to you on that mission and you can check it out.

Thanks for the input on using the clues tab, it works very well for receiving.
Next request could you expand the length of the subjects key?  It's 25 now.  We could use this at our dispatch to have them input the address and type of animals we need to pickup.  As they take calls rather than write them on a piece of paper.
Thanks for all your help.

Just so I understand, you want the Subjects name field to be longer than 25 characters?

yes if possible, that way we can use the street address(as the subject) to show where the animals are to be picked up.  We can then further detail what is to be picked up in the rest of the descriptive fields.  By using the street address(in our case) when they are displayed our IC can easily spot what is needed to be dispatched.  Once dispatched, an '*' could be placed in the first character of the name(address) and it would go to the bottom of the list.  That way we know what was picked where.
Thanks

So Chuck, are you talking about the Clue (Animal) tab and wanting a bigger Name box at the top, or are you using the Subject tab, which lists all the details on the lost child/person like Subject name, Type of subject, DOB, date last seen, physical description, what they were wearing, etc.?
