Just getting Started With MM
« on: July 03, 2014, 04:32:11 PM »
This may be a stupid question but is there a beginner's guide or tutorial for MM?  I'm assuming the first place to start is to get all the members and their info into MM then use those members to plug into the organizational chart?

Thanks for your help

Mission Manager has a YouTube channel with some tutorial videos. Here is an overview video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSsmhps_Qho.

Also check out the help file, the Help button is on the lower right of your screen. The portion of the help file you land on depends on where you are when you click the button.

You are right, the best way to start in is to start entering your members. Mission Manager is designed to have the individual members keep their own contact and emergency data updated. To get them started, the team's administrator needs to enter at least their name and email address, and then give them a login level at the bottom of the Members screen. Members can then log in and update their contact information. Depending on the permissions you give them, they may or may not be able to change their own certifications and expirations.

If you already have a database with member information, you can import your members into Mission Manager. The import button is on the Members tab.

Quick tip on the texting feature of MM. Make sure Members (or you) enter the SMS address in the form of a phone email address, for example 9165551212@vtext.com for Verizon. The format is 10 digit number with no dashes @ cell phone provider email.
Here are some common cell phone providers email extensions:
ATT   @txt.att.net
Cingular   @mobile.mycingular.com
MetroCall   @page.metrocall.com
Nextel   @messaging.nextel.com
Simple Freedom   @text.simplefreedom.net
Sprint   @messaging.sprintpcs.com
Tracfone   @text.tracfone.com
T-Mobile   @tmomail.net
Verizon   @vtext.com
Virgin Mobile   @vmobl.com
Cricket   @mms.mycricket.com
