Text and emails from missions
« on: August 20, 2014, 05:54:42 AM »
Good Morning all,

We are using the text and messages from within a mission to activate members en masse during an emergency. The challenge we have is that, as members, when we send out an activation to other members the message is received with our personal information (email). In and of itself this is not a big deal, but members who do not know us might think it is a joke and not take it seriously (they may not even read the actual message).

Is there anyone for us to designate that the message (text/email) is coming from "our group name"/"MM" instead of our personal information?

Dawn

You can override the auto-filled personal email address that comes up when sending a message from the Messages screen. Just change the Return Email Address field to be your team email address. Make sure someone monitors that team email address as during a callout, members tend to reply to it. I'm sure you know, but the Configuration screen is where you set up the team's default email subject line.

Since text messages don't allow for that many characters, most teams use the messaging system to alert members to call a team recorded information line. Or teams use the Twilio feature to push out a recorded phone call that is coming from your team leadership in their voice. Best part about using Mission Manager with Twilio is that a callout can be activated with a phone call into the messaging system while you're at a hardware store. It doesn't require being in front of a computer and you don't need a smartphone either.
