100 meter grid coordinates
« on: March 05, 2015, 07:26:51 PM »
When entering a USNG grid coordinate to 100 meters, MM will append two zeros to both the easting and northing. This will put the location at the southwest corner of the 100mx100m square. My recommendation is to append "50" to the end of both the easting and northing so as to put the location closer to the center of the 100 meter square.

I consulted a USNG instructor for input on this and appending zeros and putting the location at the southwest corner is the intent of the USNG standard. However, he suggested a checkbox for user preference.

Something like:
Locate to [ ] Lower left of 1Km or 100m grid or [ ] Center of 1Km or 100m grid.

I don't know how much coding is involved with that versus just entering a 5 after each of your inputs. I will enter as a feature request though. Thank you.
